Making a purchase on our site is very easy. Just browse our store and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping bag. All prices are inclusive of applicable Australian taxes (GST). After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete your order.
We accept online payments with Paypal, Visa & Mastercard. By purchasing on this website you certify that you are over 18 years of age and are the owner of the credit/debit card or Paypal account this is being used, or that you have specific legal authorization by the owner of the credit/debit or Paypal account owner to use it. All credit/debit cardholders are subject to validation checks and authorization by the card issuer. Timely delivery of your purchase is dependent upon payment authorization by the issuer of your payment card. We will not be liable for any delay or non-delivery in the event of issuer payment refusal.
Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. If completing your purchase with a credit card, your data is temporarily stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases and the general Shopify application. It is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) and stored with a AES-256 encryption. Shopify stores your data on a secure server behind a firewall only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction, after that is complete your purchase transaction information is deleted. If you choose to use Paypal to facilitate your purchase we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by them. In general, such a third-party provider will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us in order to complete your transaction.
Every individual piece we sell comes with insurance cover for one year, worldwide, through Q Report Jewellery Insurance.
You will received a confirmation email detailing your purchase details once your payment has been accepted.
Items that you are able to purchase now and have shipped to you within 2-14 days, depending on your location, are displayed on our Available Now page. However, we may continue to display pieces that have already been sold or that are out of stock in our collection and individual piece pages. We have done this so that our customers are still able to view pieces that they might like to specifically order as part of their individual collections or in comparison to other similar items, and also as potential inspiration should they like to order a custom Kian Design piece.
We always endeavour to accurately display item availability on our store. If however you have selected an item from our Available Now page and for some unforeseeable reason the piece is not in stock we will email you immediately. You will have the option to wait until the piece is placed into production specially for you, make a substitution, or cancel your order. Additionally, we reserve the right to not fulfill any other order type due to lack of availability of materials, specifically hard to source gemstones, at which time we will immediately notify you by email and refund any monies paid using the original payment method.
If you wish to cancel your order before the goods have been shipped, please inform us as soon as possible so that we can stop the payment from your card.
Kian Design gift vouchers can be purchased for amounts of $50, $100, $200, $500, $1000 and $5000. If you require a gift voucher for a different amount please contact us. Once purchased we can either post your voucher to you, or if it is a gift we can send it directly via post or email to your gift recipient also. Gift vouchers must be redeemed within one year from the date of purchase. Kian Design gift vouchers can be used as full or part payment for any purchase and do not have to be used in full at any one time. Gift vouchers cannot be returned or exchanged for cash. If a product is returned to us that has been purchased using a gift voucher, then the value will be refunded back onto that gift voucher. Please contact us if you have any further questions.
Custom pieces are designed and made specially for you. Please appreciate that they are therefore not returnable or refundable, except in the event where the piece is deemed faulty. Once you are happy that we have achieved your design vision we will provide you with a cost estimate. A 20% deposit will be required prior to commencement of all commissioned pieces. As a general guide, please allow a time frame to completion of 4-8 weeks. This time can vary depending on availability of materials and workshop lead times. We will always endeavour to achieve any specific time requirement that you may have, and we will let you know immediately if we are not able to accommodate your request.
We offer FREE shipping within Australia via Australia Post Platinum Express for items under $6,000 AUD and Star Track Express for all items of greater value.
We offer international shipping at a FLAT RATE of $50 AUD via FedEx express courier service. Customs duties vary by country and the recipient is responsible for covering these costs if applicable. Please note we are unable to ship to a few countries where unreliable postal services, trade embargoes or government prohibition of importation of goods of value exist. Please contact us if you require further information or are concerned that this might affect you.
All deliveries must be signed for upon receipt, so we recommend shipping to your most suitable daytime business hours address. If you are not able to sign for your delivery, Australia Post or FedEx will leave advice to organize re-delivery or for where you can pick up your package. We are unable to deliver to P.O. boxes.
You will receive an email notification when your order has been shipped. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
The time frame for delivery will depend upon the item(s) you have purchased.
For delivery of item(s) that are included on our Available Now page please allow 2-3 working days for delivery to metropolitan areas within Australia. For regional locations within Australia, please allow up to 5 working days, and for international destinations please allow up to 14 working days.
If you have ordered a piece(s) that needs to be put into production first or that is custom designed or handmade, then delivery can take from between 4-8 weeks depending on factors like the design consultation process, availability of chosen gemstones and current workshop orders. We will contact you with an estimated date for delivery. We always try our very best to deliver your purchase to you as soon as is possible.
If your purchase is for a special occasion or you require it by a specific date, please contact us in advance of your order so that we can help you individually and we will do our very best to accommodate you.
Orders are dispatched on business days and during business hours, Monday to Saturday, 10am - 5pm WST. Please note, expected delivery dates are not guarantees, they are to be used as a guideline only. In the event of any delays we will notify you immediately via email. Kian Design is not liable for any loss or damage suffered by the recipient through any unforeseen delay in delivery times.
Your Kian Design purchase will be beautifully packaged in one of our premium gift boxes. Unless specifically requested, we do not include an additional invoice; this practice reduces paper waste and in the case of gift purchases ensures your recipient remains unaware of the price! Should you request delivery directly to your gift recipient, we are happy to add a personalized gift note.
Our goal is 100% customer satisfaction. We want you to absolutely love your purchase, so if for any reason you are not happy we accept returns or exchanges of any unworn and unaltered piece(s) in its original packaging within 14 days of the receipt date. To return or exchange an item, please contact us first for return instructions.
If we do not receive the returned item in its original condition unfortunately a refund or exchange will not be offered. Any damage incurred during return transit to Kian Design is the responsibility of the sender and any damaged items will not be refunded or exchanged. All exchanges are subject to availability.
For all exchanges, if the value of the new item exceeds the original purchase or gift value, you will be required to pay the difference. Should the value of the new item be lower than the original purchase or gift value, the difference will be credited to the credit or debit card originally used for the purchase.
If a refund is requested we will issue you with a full refund minus the original shipping cost (unless goods are faulty or not as ordered). For domestic returns this amount will be a flat fee of $20 AUD, and for international returns it will be a flat fee of $50 AUD. Kian Design is not liable for refund of any customs duties associated with receipt of the original purchase (unless goods are faulty or not as ordered). If goods are returned to us as a consequence of your refusal of payment of duties they will incur an additional administration and return fee. We will credit your original method of payment, or we can also hold a credit for you for a future purchase if you prefer. Please note this does not include any custom orders which are final sale because they will have been made especially for you as per your design specifications.
All returns must include a return address, phone number, copy of your original emailed receipt, and a brief note stating the reason for the return. For your protection, please insure the item for its full value and ship the item in a way that is trackable and where you can verify receipt (e.g. Australian Post registered or Express Post Platinum, Fed Ex). We are not responsible for the item(s) until it is received, or for any shipping charges associated with the return; such charges are non-refundable except in the case of faulty goods or where goods received are not as ordered, in these instances Kian Design will reimburse any reasonable documented shipping charges.
Refunds and exchanges are processed as soon as possible, which is generally within 48 hours of receipt and you will receive an email to notify you when this has completed. Please allow up to a maximum of 30 days for the refund to be processed and your card to be refunded.
We are happy to offer an exchange option to Kian Design gift recipients. Please contact us to discuss the details regarding the original purchase and how we can facilitate helping you find your preferred piece of jewellery within a reasonable extended time frame of 28 days.
For refund requests, please note that we can only refund the credit or debit card originally used for the purchase.
As with all exchanged or returned items, they must be received back by us in unworn and unaltered condition and in the original packaging.
Kian Design only accepts returns purchased from our kiandesign.com.au on-line store. If you have purchased Kian Design fine jewellery from another retailer please contact that retailer directly. If you have any questions about this policy please contact us.
